Welcome to Top 10 Tuesday! If you’re into DIY, decor, organizing, or whatever else makes you happy – one of the best things to do is hop around on Pinterest or the giant world of blogging and get some inspiration. I always get so excited and inspired when I come across a simple DIY, a room redo, or some other fascinating idea that makes me think – “Yes! I can do that too!” So, I recently started a new series called Top 10 Tuesday. This week is focusing on DIY projects. I’m gathering up 10 of my favorite DIY finds from some super talented peeps. I hope you’ll find some ideas to inspire you to create and DIY something of your own! Enjoy!
First I’ll share one of my own favorite DIYs so far – these DIY Pendant Lights and Brackets were easy, inexpensive, and make a huge impact in our master bedroom.
This DIY Board and Batten Wall from Marly at A Brick Home has me seriously considering this for my next major impact project! I have a wall in my house that would be perfect for this. It makes a statement and doesn’t take a large budget either! Perfect DIY in my book! Check out her full tutorial on how to achieve this look.
To me, this DIY Industrial Light from Carrie at LovelyEtc is perfection! She transformed a $15 thrift store light into this amazing fixture. I know I’ve seen the “before” style at my local thrift stores so I will definitely snag one next time I see it and make it into something fabulous. Check out her amazing tutorial and see what a statement in makes in her gorgeous home.
Catherine from Concrete and Lace recently updated her patio area with these amazing DIY Curtains/Curtain Rods. Head over for some serious porch envy! I can’t believe the difference it makes in creating her outdoor oasis!
Walk into any vintage store and you’ll be sure to find an antique sugar mold and let me tell you – these things can get pricey! Which is precisely the reason I don’t have one in my house yet. Sarah from Making Joy and Pretty Things nailed this DIY. It’s amazing and definitely one I need to try. Check out how she DIY’ed this gorgeous farmhouse style mold.
These are also one of my personal DIYs that have quickly become my favorite. There are some super talented ladies I follow on Instagram that make stunning beads (here’s looking at you @autumngracedesigns). Mine aren’t quite as perfect, but good enough for me. I’m planning to make a few more strands to add to my fall decorating. It’s such a fun, quick DIY – and it’s cheap! Winner!
DIY Wall Hanging – joyfullygrowingblog.com
Ashley from joyfullygrowingblog did an amazing job on this DIY Wall Hanging and it’s just gorgeous. I’ve really been wanting to try my own, but just can’t commit to a color scheme! Any one else feel that way? The colors she chose are stunning. If you haven’t checked out her beautiful blog, definitely add it to your list! This girl’s got some serious talent!
DIY Burlap Monogram
I made this simple DIY years ago when I was trying fill wall space on the cheapo method! And I still love it. All you need is a blank 11×14 canvas (or an old one of any size you don’t love anymore), burlap fabric, tacks, and a sharpie. That’s all. Wrap the canvas in burlap and either staple or glue to the back. Pull as tight as possible. Push decorative tacks into the edges and sharpie your monogram in the center. I didn’t use a stencil (clearly) and just free-handed the best I could.
A simple DIY made from scrap wood and leftover hardware. All you need is your favorite stain to finish it off. Check out my tutorial for making this easy crate – click here!
This is a super simple DIY for all you fur baby loving parents out there. Make your special baby their own hooks! Seriously easy – scrap wood, paint, hooks. Done. Check out the full tutorial – click here!
I hope you’ve gathered some inspiration for your next DIY and thanks for stopping by Brown Dog Vintage!
